School Psychologist of the Year

Boston Public Schools school psychologist, Robyn Bryant Farmer, received MSPA’s award for School Psychologist of the Year. Robyn is an Ambassador for Recruitment of School Psychologists who are of diverse backgrounds for NASP. Robyn is also a field supervisor for Tufts University. Lifetime Achievement Award

Sara-Fay Tarlin received MSPA’s Lifetime Achievement Award. Her years of dedication to the advancement of the profession of school psychology and to the support of school psychologists, have allowed all of us to benefit from her efforts. Sara-Fay


Friend of Children

Debbie Anderson received MSPA’s Friend of Children award. In her current position as Head of Lower School, Pike School, a fellow administrator wrote, “Her leadership has been exemplary and transformative. Debbie has been able to look at what Pike has done over the years and use the best from that tradition while being always open to new possibilities if they help children learn.” The Members OnlyFriedn of Children website has more information.


Legislator of the Year

Representative Sciortino is a member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives, serving on the house Committee on Ways and Means and Joint Committee on Health Care Finance. Representative Sciortino is also a strong advocate for improving public schools. He has been an advocate for increased funding for public education and initiatives that focus on: early childhood education; lowering class size; increasing teacher salaries; tutoring services for students at risk of failing the MCAS; full-day kindergarten; and alternative education programs.
