The NASP 2009 Annual Convention will be held in Boston on February 24-28, 2009. Planning is well underway with 55-60 MSPA members participating in reviewing proposals and more than a dozen members planning local events. The almost week long event will be tremendously exciting this year, especially for school psychologists in the New England Area. Boston is a fascinating city with innumerable attractions, a rich history, unbelievable food choices and great shopping. No matter what your interest may be, Boston provides much to keep you learning, entertained, satiated and happy!

MSPA is the local association of school psychologists assisting the NASP committee to guarantee that NASP 2009 in Boston will be a tremendous success. The NASP in Boston Committee consists of Gayle Macklem and Melissa Pearrow (local co-chairs), Jannon Farkis and Samantha Paris (serving as local student co-chairs), Andria Amador, Barbara Miller, Susanne Toomajian, Sara-Fay Tarlin, Zoe Perry-Wood, Angela Cristiani, Ann Leonard-Zabel, Denise Foley, Jill MCConaghy, Jillian Archer, and Samantha Paris.

In support of NASP in Boston 2009, the MSPA Committee will feature all sorts of Boston attractions, places to see, foods to sample, shopping to consider as well as information about getting around Boston and the coming convention. Check this page frequently!

This Pulitzer-prize winning show by Tennesee Williams is scheduled for February 13th through March 14th. "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof is typical of Williams at his best" according to The New York Times.

On February 27th consider the satirical opera, "The Nose", at the Cutler Majestic Theatre at Emerson College, Boston. If you bring your kids consider Green Eggs and Hamadeus, a Dr. Seuss musical extravaganza with Boston Musica Viva. It plays Saturday, February 28, 12pm and 2pm_at the Tsai Performance Center. This is a mini-opera designed for families.

The show "Dirty Dancing - The Classic Story On Stage" features 35 hit songs, including "Hungry Eyes," "Do You Love Me?," and "(I've Had) The Time Of My Life." The music is woven into the stage story. The East Coast premiere is in Boston!

    On Tuesday, February 24, celebrate Mardi Gras for a good cause with the Annual Fundraiser for the New England Chapter of the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America. Come early to Boston and visit the Boston Globe travel show on February 20 and 22 at the Seaport World Trade Center, Boston. There will be pavilions showcasing travel destinations from around the world, cultural seminars, music and dance presentations, cooking demonstrations, and an array of activities for the entire family.
